AMY SANDS

Practice Director

  • AMY'S APPROACH

Amy believes that meaningful change happens through safe, trusting relationships. She is passionate about creating supportive spaces where people feel understood, accepted, and empowered to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

With over 15 years of experience across education, counselling, and therapeutic practice, Amy brings a deep understanding of human development, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. Her work is guided by compassion, curiosity, and a commitment to understanding the experiences that sit beneath thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Amy draws on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Child-Centred Play Therapy, attachment-based practice, family systems theory, Internal Family Systems, and positive psychology. She takes a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed approach, recognising and valuing each person's unique experiences, strengths, and ways of engaging with the world.

She believes support is most effective when it extends beyond the individual, working collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure people receive the right support at the right time.
