Elizabeth “Liz” McConnell is a warm and thoughtful Registered Psychologist who works across the lifespan, supporting children, adolescents, and adults with care, clarity, and clinical depth.
With a strong academic foundation and extensive training in both therapeutic intervention and psychological assessment, Liz brings a balanced and evidence-based approach to her work. She holds a Master of Science (Honours) in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Psychology, alongside postgraduate qualifications in Cognitive Behaviour Psychotherapy and Higher Education.
Liz is known for her person-centred and collaborative style. She tailors therapy to each individual, drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches to ensure support feels responsive, practical, and meaningful. Her work is grounded in the belief that therapy should not only reduce distress, but also build insight, resilience, and confidence.
In addition to ongoing therapy, Liz has significant experience in comprehensive psychological assessment. She provides strengths-based assessments for Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disorders, offering families and individuals clear, detailed guidance and practical recommendations. Her assessment work includes cognitive and neuropsychological testing using gold-standard tools such as the WISC-V and WAIS-IV, with thorough report writing to support educational planning, workplace accommodations, and clinical understanding.
Liz values clarity and communication. She works closely with families, schools, GPs, and allied health professionals to ensure recommendations are both actionable and aligned with the individual’s context.
