PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EDUCATORS

Understanding Trauma and the Developing Brain

Building understanding of how trauma affects the developing brain, behaviour, regulation, and responses to stress.

This six-hour professional development workshop explores how trauma affects the developing brain, why children behave the way they do, and how educators can respond with greater understanding and confidence during moments of escalation.

Participants will explore the neural systems involved in trauma responses, consider real-world scenarios, and gain practical, evidence-based strategies that can be applied across early learning, kindergarten, and school environments to foster emotional safety, connection, and regulation.
